Overview of lessons

We teach students at all levels: Beginners, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced.

Our focus is on immersing yourself in real-life scenarios so you're understood in the language and take your confidence to the next level.

Our lessons are great for learning a broad overview of topics in tour chosen language, including holiday scenarios and everyday conversation. Classes can also be tailored to special interests for students who have reached (pre)intermediate level.

Whilst we use a textbook to provide structure to lessons, this is supplemented with authentic audio, video and speaking activities so that you reach fluency quicker by putting sentences together, asking questions and understanding answers.

For students with experience of the language who wish to take it to the next level, we'll ensure you've covered the foundations and consolidate your knowledge. Quite often, students struggle with putting sentences together or understanding questions but now knowing how to respond. Or perhaps they've been learning independently and need someone to converse with and help make sense of the grammar and verbs!

We also offer classes for students sitting FCE, CAE, English Proficiency and IELTS English exams, either for work, study or personal development.

For Spanish students, we tutor for DELE students and for French, we tutors students sitting the DELF exam.

Our success rate is based on our Lab Method™️: Assess > Learn > Track > Achieve. We use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as a benchmark for tracking your progress.

Our hybrid model

We believe learning a language is a hybrid model of interactive tools and online classes.

1. Private lessons

Sessions to ask questions, provide structure and guide you through more challenging elements such as grammar and verbs (although it's not actually the be-all and end-all). Plus, someone who'll correct your mistakes!

2. Vocab apps

We call this 'swipe and learn'. Quizlet and Memrise are great for bite-sized sessions on your mobile to revise vocab on the go. Dip in and out when you have time.

3. Netflix, Amazon
Prime & YouTube

Sit back and watch your favourite series or movie. Subtitles on or off, watching at your pace, immerse yourself in the language and learn real-life words and phrases.

4. Social media

Tweets, updates and posts - short, in real-time and to the point so you never get bored. Plus read comments and engage with native speakers.

5. Self-study

Learning a language takes commitment and routine. Independent study outside of classes helps reinforce what you've learnt and embeds positive habits!

6. Podcasts

Subscribe to podcasts so you're getting into a regular routine with. Great if you want to slow down the speed.

Case Study

(MLL) were recommended to me, and I am delighted with my progress so far. I take weekly classes online and my teacher is in Southern Spain and a perfect match. Classes are flexibly arranged to suit my requirements. We combine learning through conversation with grammar and homework. It’s the first time in years I have used my Spanish regularly without travelling.I am enjoying the opportunity to finally start getting it right more often! Thank you Drew for understanding my request and providing a great teacher in Marina!

Sophie, learning for fun

I was hesitant when I first started Spanish classes, being a complete beginner and not knowing if I was capable of learning a new language. [MLL] is a great company who are professional and friendly. Big shout out to my fantastic teacher Tamara, who has massively increased my confidence and enthusiasm to learn. Can’t go wrong with these guys.
